How to Apply for Grants

The John G. and Marie Stella Kenedy Memorial Foundation only funds organizations and programs that meet the established grant criteria, which can be found in the Grant Policy Section.  Please read and review the Foundation’s grant policies in their entirety before you begin the application process.

If you do not meet any of the established grant criteria outlined in the Grant Policy, please do not continue the application process. If you are not sure if you meet the criteria, the Eligibility Quiz below will help you assess your proposal against the criteria.

Note to Sectarian applicants: Application procedures differ among Diocese. Please check with your Diocese before applying to ensure that you comply with Diocese protocols.

To start you must pass the Eligibility Quiz, to gain access to the online application which has five parts (Please prepare your information in advance):

Below is a listing of the required attachments:

EXHIBIT "A" TO GRANT APPLICATION TO
THE JOHN G. AND MARIE STELLA KENEDY MEMORIAL FOUNDATION

Applicant must attach as Exhibit "A" a copy of Applicant's most recent IRS Determination Letter showing tax-exempt status. If Applicant is a Catholic entity listed in the current Official Catholic Directory, then Exhibit "A" shall consist only of a copy of the page or pages from the Catholic Directory showing such listing.

EXHIBIT "B" TO GRANT APPLICATION TO
THE JOHN G. AND MARIE STELLA KENEDY MEMORIAL FOUNDATION

Corporations

If Applicant is a corporation, sectarian or non-sectarian, Applicant shall attach as Exhibit "B" copies of the following current documents: Corporate Charter (Articles of Incorporation), Bylaws, list of current Board of Directors and Officers to include addresses and phone numbers, and a copy of the corporate minutes authorizing the filing of a grant application with the Kenedy Memorial Foundation.

Religious Order

If Applicant is an unincorporated Catholic Religious Order; Applicant shall attach as Exhibit "B" the name, title, address and telephone number of the Superior of such Order in Texas. If the Superior is not located in Texas, then in the United States.

EXHIBIT "C" TO GRANT APPLICATION TO
THE JOHN G. AND MARIE STELLA KENEDY MEMORIAL FOUNDATION

Applicant shall attach as Exhibit "C" a summary of the following data:
(a) A list of funds received from all sources for this project or activity.
(b) A list of all funds requested from others for this project or activity.
(c) If the application is for funds for construction, renovation or purchase of equipment, describe the source of funds which will be needed in the future for the operation and/or maintenance of the project.

EXHIBIT "D" TO GRANT APPLICATION TO
THE JOHN G. AND MARIE STELLA KENEDY MEMORIAL FOUNDATION

Applicant shall attach as Exhibit "D" a copy of a detailed budget for the project or activity. In the case of an ongoing program or activity, include the budget for the last year, the current year and the following year.

EXHIBIT "E" TO GRANT APPLICATION TO
THE JOHN G. AND MARIE STELLA KENEDY MEMORIAL FOUNDATION

Applicant shall attach as Exhibit "E" a copy of the most recent annual financial statements, audited if available, and Form 990 if filed by Applicant. If Applicant is a Catholic entity controlled by a Diocese (i.e. parish, school, corporation, etc.), such information shall include such financial data for the Diocese and for the Applicant.

EXHIBIT "F" TO GRANT APPLICATION TO
THE JOHN G. AND MARIE STELLA KENEDY MEMORIAL FOUNDATION

IF APPLICABLE - Applicant shall attach as Exhibit "F" a copy of a letter from the Bishop at your respective Diocese with comments on your requested project.
